Wow. It has been quite some time since I last updated my website. In the
Another long period of silence since my last chunk of news, this month has been really busy so far. I started working on two projects with two different choreographers, one still untitled by Gerleen Balstra and the other Playstation by Art Srisayam. Also I decided to join in FAWM (Fabruary Album Writing Month), where you are challenged to write at least 14 songs within the month of February. I am glad to announce that I achieved that goal and that I am still writing, so a new album will be coming soon!On top of that I did my first live gig in a long time for Music Movement Sessions in Amsterdam. I did an improvisation jam of material I gathered throughout the day. A very inspiring process and also a pretty cool result. The track underneath (also submitted for FAWM of course) is a little chunck of the music I made on that day. Thanks for tuning in and you will hear from me soon!
After a long time of silence, a trip to America and moving houses I am back with some new music for all of you to enjoy! Let me start off by saying happy new year to y'all (that's you all in Texas). Hope all your wishes may come true in the coming year. On my way back from America I started working on the first track to come out of my new studio called 10.000. A combination of voice and a light inspiration by the future-bass style mashed with my own house style blended up. I hope you enjoy, put quite some jetlag time into this track and I'm quite proud of it! Thanks for listening and stay tuned for more!
Today I gave myself the challenge of writing three pieces of music before the day ends. I started by making 3 sketches giving myself 15 minutes each. Next up I elaborated on the arrangements taking 1 to 2 hours per track and eventually mixing and mastering all of them within 30 minutes per track. The result is this EP, all created on this stormy thursday, I hope you enjoy and thanks for listening!
This track was made after an original track by Thomas Walschot. Kalinushka is a Russian folk about sailors returning from sea during the spring. It describes soft white feathered snow bushes blooming upon steep cliffs. I hope you enjoy, thanks for listening!
Not only has the title of this track always been Journey it has actually been on a true journey over the past two years. It all started in my temporary appartment in Aachen during the West Side Story rehearsals, I was hanging out with a good friend of mine and writing some music. I took a track off the original soundscape from the show and stretched a second out to four bars. After sweeping some filters I got an addicting hook out of it. During that time I was composing Lullaby a 7 act piece by Mellanie Chrissy Bos and decided to use the music for that piece. After some time I made a long, 10 minute soundscape version for an improvisation dance I did with Rahul Goswami. The piece went from Aachen to Groningen to Amsterdam and back to Aachen where I finished the current arrangement. Fast forward, two years later I decided to mix and master this track again. With the huge pad and the classic West Side Story snaps I can't help but feel nostalgic about it, thanks for listening and stay tuned.
The first track I am ready to share with you from my upcoming album. It is called Warrior after my fathers name Gert which translates into that. A song about strenght, determination, focus and love. Of the many things I have learned from him one of the most important lessons is that with hard work and focus anything is achievable I hope you enjoy this track!
